College Post

What do we look for in a well rounded college career?
Is it how many books we read?
How many hours we spend in the library?
Our grades?
The test we just bombed?
The test we just aced?
Portfolio?
Career fair?
How much we spend on books?
----------------------------------------
The bars we go to?
Bar-crawls?
The friends we made?
How often we speak with our family?
Do we talk to our family?
When we visit home?
How many people we've 'hooked up with?
How many cases of beer we've drank?
How many times we blacked out?
The amount of drugs we've done?
How many classes we've blown off?
----------------------------------------
The sports games we've watched?
The sports we play?
The sports games we've attended?
The movies we've seen?
The TV shows we watch?
The movies we download?
The music we listen to?
The internet videos we watch?
+the blogs we do?
The video games we play?
How many times we've gone to the mall?
----------------------------------------
How late we stayed up?
How little sleep we've gotten?
What we've eaten?
Where we've eaten?
The amount or lack of showers we've taken?
How often we do the dishes?
How often the apartment gets trashed?
The laundry we do?
-----------------------------------------
The clothes we wear?
The shoes we wear?
The jewelry we wear?
The sunglasses or hats we wear?

These are all details of our college experiences that occur day in and day out. Some on a daily basis, some on a weekly basis, some once a month. Some of us have never experienced a few of these. Its apparent that some kids have lost themselves at school. Some have found themselves...and some have changed, better or worse.

Take a minute and figure out if you are defined by any of this, or if they as a whole create your identity. What is most important to you? What defines you? Are you well-rounded? Are you confined between the walls of social interaction, and studies? What makes a college career? What breaks it? Is this too much for us to handle weekly for four/+ years? Has it changed you for the better or for the worse? Do you hold too much faith in one category over another? Are you balanced? Thinking does not take time. We are always thinking. Think about your life, and whats most important.

Think about if you were ready for all of this when you stepped onto your respective campus.

Illinois Basketball

The University of Illinois Men's Basketball Team has just tied Michigan State for first place in the Big Ten Conference.  With a win over Wisconsin in Madison last night, U of I raised their record to 9-3, while Michigan State lost to Purdue which tied U of I and MSU in the conference.  Illinois beat 5th ranked MSU last saturday at home, and with another ranked team down (Wisconsin), hopefully Illinois is looking at a top 25 ranking in the Nation.  Our big in the NCAA tournament will hopefully go up a few notches as well.
