When one enters college, he or she would not know what to expect. A student can easily become homesick after a little while away. In high school, we never spent much time away from the family or the comfort of our own homes. We had all of our home friends, home activities, and home habits. When you go away to college, the first year, you miss home. The second year, you grow a little more confidence, and the third year you are ready to spend your summer away at school for lack of a job at home. I dont know how all parents feel about their kids being away for summer, but I do know that summer was once your time away from school to spend at home...bum around with your friends, go to sports camps, the pool, stay out late, go to work, sleep-in, eat for free, raid your own refrigerator.
But then you get to the perks of living on your own...
Well...you live on your own sleep schedule, earn and spend your own money, go to the bars whenever you want, have people over as often and whenever youd like. Blast music as loud as you want. Raid your own empty refrigerator, co-ed sleepovers, illegal substances, going to the gym, parties by the pool, and so on.
A lot more freedoms when you live on your own right?

Sports
Today is May 27th, 2010. This Saturday, the Chicago Blackhawks will be playing in game one of the Stanley Cup Finals! I will get to that later. June first, Lebron James will begin deciding on whether or not he will be playing in Chicago, and there is talk of Phil Jackson coming back to the Bulls.
Today I want to talk about the NBA playoffs. The Phoenix Suns, who were down two games to none against Kobe and the LA Lakers are making huge strides. The last two games were played unbelievably well by the Suns in front of their home crowd. The bench, Dragich, Amundson, Dudley, big Robin Lopez, and Channing Frye have all been playing with a huge chip on their shoulder, which has been giving starters, Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire valuable resting minutes. The Phoenix offense must be covered at all times due to their supreme three point shooting. Tonight at 8 PM, I know where I will be. Sitting on my couch wearing my Santa Clara Steve Nash number 11 college jersey watching the game, and yelling loud.
I cant wait.

The Past Few Months
Well, its been a while since my last post. It was in March some time. Since then I have done some pretty amazing things.
Panama City Beach for spring break would definitely fall into that category. There's one thing that I learned from that trip. No daughter or sister of mine will ever be going. Good god. Stayed at a place called the summit. I felt dirty just being in there knowing that there were about 100 people staying in my room the 5 weeks prior to our visit. We all know what goes on during spring break. A lot of drunken uncleanliness. aka. sex. and lots of it.
Moving on...
When I came home from spring break, having taken 5 years minimum off my life, I wasn't much in the mood to consume more alcohol, EVEN THOUGH my birthday was that friday. Lets talk about a blackout for a minute. A black out is where you consume so much booze that you don't remember anything. The last thing I remember from my birthday is losing my dinner and stomach into my...Bath tub? Now, I have not had many black outs in college prior to this, not since rush freshman year, but I do see people doing it all around me all the time. Most of the time making bad decisions. I am not one to judge, but I sure do love the entertainment of seeing people act a fool. In any event, I am glad my birthday is over.
I sure have developed a love for this place in Champaign, Dos Reales. Its a Mexican restaurant, which has some very delicious margaritas. Ones so delicious in fact, they attract hundreds and hundreds of people every time there is a legit happening on campus like Moms weekend, or Cinco de Mayo. Unreal. Cinco de Mayo/ my best buds birthday, we had a 7 o clock reservation, but were not seated until like 840. A few of my friends were already a bit intoxicated and began getting very impatient, especially with the 50 sorority girls who thought they were there ahead of us, and better than that, two of my friends showed up wearing dego tees, jean shorts, and sombreros. We had a good time. Especially when we got back to the apartment for the party and the girls below us called the cops on us 3 times. Weak. Especially when reading day is the next day? Hoes.
Putting your mattress down in your living room to watch Avatar is always a good idea, so dont let anyone tell you it is not.
A comfortable mindfuck is always a great time.
The Chicago Blackhawks are kicking ass. Up 2 nothing on San Jose, and heading back to Chicago for games 3 and 4. Last time I was in the United Center, I saw them practicing..of course you would know this if you have read previous 'blogs'(lack of a better term) Perhaps I was their lucky charm. Perhaps they dont need luck at all.
The Bulls were a bit of a dissapointment, however no one really expected them to even make the play offs. Derrick Rose on the other hand is a brilliant ball player who has a big future in the NBA ahead. ESPECIIIIALLLLY if we get Lebron. I wont go there, though.
To cap things off, I will be staying in Champaign this summer. First summer away from home. Could make or break me. Hopefully it leads me to write about a lot of interesting things. A lot of good people are staying down here, but I will be without my bests'. We will see what happens. I plan to take a lot of photography this summer, and begin/end making my portfolio for my glorious Industrial Design Major. HA.
